Second Quarter GEM and Grand Openings
Second Quarter GEM
Another quarter has come and gone and Star Pediatrics would like to recognize some outstanding nurses who have gone the extra mile not only this past quarter, but since they have joined the Star Family. This quarter we recognize three more Star nurses from each office who truly represent what it means to be a Star nurse.
Saddle Brook GEM: Jeralen Mascarinas RN, BSN
Congratulations Jeralen Mascarinas RN, BSN has worked with the Star family for 14 years and counting. Jeralen has dedicated her years of service to the same family, covering overnights for majority of that time. Betsy, Saddle Brook’s Clinical Director commented, “Jeralen always shows great care and compassion for her clients. Maintaining her proficiency in providing care for high acuity cases, she is always willing to take on challenging cases as needed”. We want to recognize Jeralen for her commitment to being an amazing nurse and part of our Star family. Thank you Jeralen and congratulations!
Mount Laurel GEM: Zachary Queeney LPN
Going on his third year as a Star nurse Zach has been a vital asset to the Star Family. Since his start, Zach has gone above and beyond for this agency and especially the families to whom he has dedicated his time and services. By pitching in, helping cover shifts, and training newer nurses on high acuity cases, Zach is the epitome of what it means to go the extra mile. Michelle Marano RN, BSN, Vice President of our Star Family stated, “Zach is one of the most reliable, dedicated, and motivated nurses I have encountered in a very long time”. Congrats Zach and thank you!
Howell GEM: Gabriela Ardiles LPN
Congratulations to our Howell GEM Gabriela Ardiles, LPN for being selected as our GEM nurse of the quarter! Gabby arrived at the Star Family as a new graduate who was eager to work. She jumped on board, trained to be a trach vent nurse and has been shining with us ever since. Gabby is sweet, loving, and gentle. Her hard work and determination to provide high-quality care is admirable and inspiring. These characteristics make it so easy to love Gabby and it shows in the relationships she creates with our administration and our clients. She is our GEM for these and so many other reasons. We wish her a long, successful career here at Star. Congrats Gabby and thank you!

Fifteen Years Down, Many More to Go and Welcoming a New CEO!
Last month we celebrated 15 years in providing the best care possible to the pediatric community of New Jersey. Fifteen years ago, a small but strong group of women with a passion for nursing came together and dedicated their time and effort into creating a pediatric home care agency with a dream to be different from the rest. From that small group of women, Star Pediatric Home Care Agency has turned into a family of over 700 employees and counting. We would like to take this time and give a huge thank you to Marina Stengart, our CEO, for her long-time dedication and commitment to this family and the families we have the privilege of serving. Without her, none of this would be possible. Marina shared with us last month that she will continue to work and serve this family for many years to come but will be passing the baton to another loyal and dedicated leader of this family, Michelle Stengart. Michelle has been with Star for 13 years and has worked in many different departments during her time. Learning and mastering all the different pieces that go into home care, Michelle will follow in her mother’s footsteps and dedicate her career to the medically fragile children of New Jersey and how to best service them and their families. Congrats Michelle!
